Sustainability and Impact
It’s not just about the finished product.
At PARX, we believe outdoor spaces should support healthier people and a healthier planet. That’s why we look beyond the end result, embedding sustainability into every stage of our design, fabrication and delivery process.
Whether it’s responsibly sourced materials, smarter prototyping or water-wise design, we take a practical, purpose-driven approach to reducing our environmental impact.

How We Build Better
Locally Made
We’re proud to manufacture 80% of our products here in Australia. That means fewer transport miles, stronger local partnerships and more control over quality and process. It also means more local jobs and supports Australia’s local economy.
Designed to Last
Longevity is our first line of defence against waste. We design with purpose and build for daily use in public space, extending the lifecycle of every product and reducing unnecessary replacement.
Smarter Use of Materials
We optimise material use, reduce offcuts and use recyclable and recycled packaging wherever possible. Wherever we can, we also reuse materials during upgrades or decommissions—whether that’s components, fixings or raw materials.
Sustainable Byproducts
Where we do create waste, we upcycle and put it to good use wherever we can. For example, sapwood strippings from our Rustik timber products are blended with other organic materials to create nutrient-rich soil, supporting agricultural productivity.
Responsible Choices
We continually review our materials, practices and supply partnerships to make better decisions and reduce our environmental impact. We select global partners who share our values, and work with trusted local suppliers to keep our footprint lower and our supply chain accountable.

Design With Purpose. Build With Care.
Sustainability starts in design and continues through everything we make.
Across the board, our components are engineered for long-term durability, reducing environmental impact over time by minimising the need for repair or early replacement. We pre-assemble components—big and small—wherever we can. This means less time on site, smoother delivery and a safer, more efficient install.
When selecting materials, we prioritise local, sustainable options. Our Rustik range, for example, is made in-house from sustainably sourced hardwood, processed and finished locally in Queensland.
Smarter Water, Start to Finish.
Water is one of our most precious resources and we manage it with intent.
Across our work in splashparks and aquatic environments (delivered through Atlantis Liquid Dynamics), we design for filtration, reuse, energy efficiency and water quality from day one. Even during in-house testing and prototyping, we operate with a closed-loop recycled water recycling process, where water is recirculated through our below ground tanks and pumping infrastructure.

A Bigger Picture View.
The most sustainable spaces are those that last and adapt.
That’s why we design for real-world use, long-term performance and ease of care, so spaces stay safe, functional and valued over time.
While we offer a full maintenance schedule and service kit (including cleaning equipment and touch up treatments) as standard, we also offer tailored maintenance services, helping our clients proactively protect their investment, extend product life and reduce unnecessary waste over time.
Strong Supply Partnerships
Local where we can. Intentional where we can’t.
Wherever possible, we work with trusted local partners to source materials and components. These relationships help us support Australian jobs, reduce freight emissions and stay accountable to quality, ethics and performance.
When something isn’t available locally—or when a global partner offers a more sustainable or technically appropriate option—we choose carefully. We consolidate freight to reduce shipping impact and keep our environmental footprint in check.

Our Broader Responsibility.
Sustainability also means designing with people in mind.
We’re committed to creating spaces that don’t just function, but that foster inclusion, equity and access. That means thinking beyond the product itself, and considering who uses it, how it’s used, and the long-term benefit it brings to the community.
Our team are passionate advocates for inclusive design in all its forms—not just accessibility, but spaces that support a wide range of ages, abilities, cultures and ways of engaging. It’s this mindset that guides our approach from concept to completion.
